Real
Real Skateboards is a board company based in San Fransisco affiliated and distributed through Deluxe Distribution. It was founded in 1990 by Jim Thiebaud and Tommy Guerrero.
Thiebaud was at one time a professional skateboarder, originally sponsored by Powell Peralta who then turned pro for Santa Monica Airlines. It was while both he and Guerrero, who both lived in the same neighbourhood and rode for Powell Peralta, that the idea of starting their own company took root.
Guerrero is known for his acoustic music and album releases as well as his effortless skateboarding talents. Real is a company defined by its name- it is a straight-up skateboard brand with a focus on classic, no-gimmick graphics and hardcore talent within its team.
Members include JT Aultz, Ernie Torres, Peter Ramondetta, Damian Bravo,Dennis Busenitz, and Nick Dompierre. Real has just released a collection of boards called Bombers which consist of extra thick ply’s of maple to increase strength and durability.
