LRG

Lifted Research Group –LRG was first concieved in 1999 by Jonas Bevacqua and Robert Wright. Wright, having worked elsewhere within the fashion industry, brought extensive experience in streetwear design and construction to L-R-G. Bevacqua was initially responsible for the idea for the company, as well as its logo design.

LRG focuses primarily on the design, production, and marketing of streetwear clothing and accessories with a reputation for its premium cut and sew lines, high attention to detail and application of techniques to create intricate embroidered and printed graphics. With these tools the brand releases collections each season which belong to a particular story or narrative with design centred around associated iconography- these ‘stories’ allow the brand to deviate from  the usual staple imagery of the Grassroots basics range and develop and grow injecting new life each season.

The company also supports independent, underground, and lesser-known recording artists in the skateboarding and hip-hop cultures through the release of compilation CDs. Artists featured include Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9), (Cise Starr, KG Kun, Grouch, Living Legends, T.I. Kanye West, Pete Rock, Raekwon, Planet Asia, Shortkaus Lumbar, DL Incognito, Petey Puff, Gucci Mane Blu of Blu & Exile among others.

Although LRG has a full skate team it is predominantly not a skateboard clothing company and likes to place itself within the urban streetwear culture than within the skateboard market. The Pro skateboard team is Rodrigo TX, Karl Watson, Chico Brenes, Rob Gonzalez, Adelmo Jr and Jack Curtin.

In 2006 with all eyes focused on the ethical practices of clothing companies, L-R-G began making all of their clothing line from Organic cotton and other natural materials. In late 2005, L-R-G announced their new women's clothing line, called Luxirie which targets the 18 to 30 age group. Designs from the label cover six themes, ranging from western to military, and include such signature items as a pair of crystal-covered jeans. The label launched in the United States and Canada in fall 2006.
