BLUEPRINT
Blueprint Skateboards burst into the British skateboard scene in 1995. Founded in Halstead, Essex as an off shoot from Panic skateboards it is by far the most influential and established British skate company which has extended its reign over the last few years by distrubuting its product allover the world with representation in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia. Distributed nationally by Faze 7 Alternative Stuff LTD and world wide by MI7 Distribution.
Blueprint Skateboards is independently controlled outside of Faze 7 Alternative Stuff LTD. Dan Magee creates and oversees Art direction, generating the companies uniquely British identity through innovative graphic design, Joe Burlo oversees production and Neil Chester takes care of team management, filming the teams exploits and travels and managing promotional duties. In contrast to many other UK companies Blueprint edge towards clean, graphically two-dimentional, type-based design focusing on the more traditional elements of British culture such as the perpetually wet weather, short summer and closing winter nights which work in contradiction to the classical perception of US skate climate- it is this notion of battling against the elements which ‘we thrive on’, according to the Blueprint manifesto, and engrain the perception of hardy skateboarding in the UK’s bleak, urban environment.
Blueprint have US sourced wood manufacture and use 100% Canadian Maple in their deck construction. They also supply wheels, bearings, skate tools, griptape and accessories alongside a good selection of clothing including tee-shirts, hoods, denim, belts, caps, beanies and have collaborated with numerous companies- most notably Lakai and Nike SB with rider specific colourways and graphics for skate shoes.
They have an extensive team featuring some of Britains finest skate talent and a number of international riders including Mark Baines, Vaughan Baker, Chewy Cannon, Colin Kennedy, Nick Jensen, Paul Shier, Neil Smith, Tuukka Korhonen Danny Brady, Mikey Wright, Ben Nordberg, Kevin Coakley Sylvain Tognelli and Jerome Campbell. Their team riders are Rob Selley, Dan Magee, Flynn Trotman, Ben Grove, Stephan Morgan, Carl Shipman, Paul Carter, Conhuir Lynn, Channon King, Andres Holguin, John Fisher, Adam Stoddart and Scott Palmer.
They have released a number of well-polished skateboard films including the most recent and influential Lost and Found (2005), Belong Tour (2002), First Broadcast (2001), Waiting for the World (2000), Build and Destroy Promo (1999), PNC/Bluprint: Anthems (1997) and PNC/Blueprint: A Mixed Media (1996).
