Adidas Skateboarding
Only recently branched out into the skateboarding footwear market, Adidas Skateboarding have made a big impact within a short space of time. Considered an athletic footwear brand, Adidas are probably not the first name that springs to mind in skateboarding circles but throughout the nineties skateboarders used the Campus as a skateboard shoe because of its great flat, grippy sole and soft suede upper so it seems that a range of shoes for skateboarding by Adidas has been long overdue. Like Nike SB, Adidas Skateboarding have not simply taken styles from one range and placed them directly into the skate range without some attention and alteration. All of the classic shoes which have made the migration to the skate line have been graced with extra features: extra padding around the tongue and heel collar, premium leathers, suedes and nubuck uppers, heel protection and shock absorbtion, soft grippy rubber soles and lace saving features are just a few worth mentioning. What Adidas seem to have done so well is provide a range of shoes with no patronizing marketing strategy directed at infiltrating the skateboarding market, they have just produced a modest line of footwear with backing from an exceptional skate team without gimmicks, which maybe the reason behind their success. Signing the legendary Mark (Gonz) Gonzales might have been the stroke of genius which set them on the right path. The Gonz oozes of realness and credibility having been a key figure in skateboarding's development throughout the nineties. The rest of the team doesn’t fall short either….
The line up of the Adidas Skateboarding team consists of Nestor Judkins, Mark Gonzales, Vince Del Valle, Dennis Busenitz, Tim O Connor, Silas Baxter-Neal, Lem Villemin, Dave Bachinsky, and UK’s Benny Fairfax. Some of our current favourites are the adidas campus vulc and the gazelle To View the full Adidas Skateboarding range click here Like Adidas Skateboarding ? You might also like Nike SB and Supra. |
