Supra Shoes was founded by Angel Cabada who is also the brainchild behind Kr3w clothing. Angel started Supra footwear in 2006 to manufacture cutting edge shoe designs for the skate market but with a twist on what was currently out there. With both Supra and Kr3w, the idea is to produce a high end product with street/skate aesthetics and both brands benefit from this unique injection of style. This was born from both Angel and the likes of Chad Muska and rest of the team who pride themselves on bringing a new look and approach to a market which is sometimes stagnant with shoes styles that differ only by logo rather than substance. With the launch of the Supra Skytop that reputation has been firmly cemented within the skateboard annuls, sought out by both skateboarders and sneaker heads, this shoe became an instant success with its new take on what a vulcanized shoe should look like. Muska brought in premium materials combined with an 80’s basketball vibe that revolutionized that style of shoe and made it a must for the fashionistas as well as someone looking for a bombproof skate shoe. Supra continue to produce footwear which pulls in fans from differing sub cultures- They incorporate patent coatings and full-grain leathers to soft nubuck to give their sneakers and skytop shoes that feel of quality. Particular styles and colourways are often only available in limited numbers adding to that want factor for the fans.
The current line of footwear from Supra is extensive coupled with a healthy apparel line. The styles now available are the Amigo, the Assault, the Avenger, the Bandit, the Belay, the Bullet, the Cuban, the Cuttler, the Dixon, the Henry, the Pilot, the Skylow, the Skytop, the Skytop II and the Skytop III, the Society and the Society mid, the Stacks, the Thunder and the Thunder Low, the Vaider and the Vaider Low and the Wrap.
Supra now incorporate SUPRATUF® – it makes shoes Water Resistant, easier to clean than regular suede and useful in climates where rain, dirt or snow can compromise the life of your shoes. SUPRATUF® is tested using the Taber Abrasion Meter. The TABER measures abrasion in cycles.
Regular suede goes through about 25 to 40 cycles before abrading. The average SUPRATUF® will go through more than 200 cycles before abrading. Coupled with the fact that its made using genuine suede and is a better fit and comfort than 100% synthetic shoes.
