Dutch artist Parra was born in 1976 in Maastricht and is best known for his curved post-Pop imagery, highly saturated yet limited colour palette, vibrant hand-drawn letters and worlds inhabited by hybrid, surreal characters, often injected with a dark and unique humour.
Celebrated by galleries and championed by an underground following from the outset, Parra has quickly become a respected and eclectic artist worldwide. Working across drawing, painting, animation and sculpture, Parra creates an enigmatic and instantly recognisable style that defies easy categorisation. Parra is cofounder of cult clothing label Rockwell and a member of electronic music group Le Le. The Rockwell clothing line mostly consists of limited screenprinted tee-shirts, crew necks, hooded tops, jackets and caps but also includes a number of unique additions such as its printed canvas shoulder bags and limited edition artist screenprints. Recently Parra has branched out into creating small run pieces such as his designer coffee table produced in collaboration with Toykyo in Belgium and its sunglasses in collab with Waiting for the Sun which are made from bamboo.
